Environmental Monitoring
We provide environmental monitoring services nationwide. We specialise in noise, dust, vibration monitoring.
Lally Chartered Engineers has vast experience in environmental engineering and an extensive range of calibrated equipment. Our services are available in-house to meet the most exacting monitoring requirements. We supply equipment on a long-term basis for large Infrastructural Projects, or on a daily basis for monitoring blasting, hydraulic rock breaking or other construction activity.
Monitoring keeps the risk of damage or subsidence to an absolute minimum, as any significant movement will be noticed and can be acted upon immediately.
VIBRATION MONITORING
Our work is carried out using Instantel® Minimate® & Blastmate® seismographs – the world’s most trusted vibration monitors.
We can set up a monitoring station on Site in a vandal proof housing connected to a long-life battery and GSM modem. This will monitor ground vibrations and transmit them in real time to our office for analysis. The system can send a text message should the readings be higher than that permitted on the EIS report.
Use of mobile devices allows us to monitor ground vibration in a number of locations in one visit. This would be used in blasting, rock breaking or to get a general report for a construction project and its impact on local residents or businesses.
NOISE AND SOUND MONITORING
For this category of monitoring we use Larson Davis Sound Level Meters – Model 812, a hand held data logging integrating sound level meter and a personal noise dosimeter.
We can set up a monitoring station on site in a vandal proof housing connected to a long life battery and GSM modem. This will monitor noise levels and transmit them in real time to our office for analysis. We can set up the system to send a text message to a designated phone should the readings be higher than that permitted on the EIS report.
DILAPIDATION / PRE-CONDITION SURVEYS
Prior to blasting or rock breaking we carry out dilapidation surveys of buildings. Two Engineers carry out each survey using a hand held camcorder and a high resolution digital camera. The survey is then transferred to DVD. We can also produce a paper report if needed. This provides a detailed record of the property prior to any construction work commencing.
We can also install Tell-Tales to monitor any movement in a building during the course of a construction project.
