We have worked with some of Ireland’s leading Construction companies providing temporary work solutions. At Lally Chartered Engineers we pride ourselves on designing feasible solutions that take into account the particular challenges of your site and project. Our engineers use the latest design software to provide specific designs that can be used as permanent works or have the ability to be removed once the project has been successfully completed. We work closely with contractors to provide solutions that are on time and are cost effective.

EARTH BUNDS

We have designed numerous earth bunds for wind farms, substations and haul roads to securely store all the stripped peat that arose from developing the site. Our Engineers worked on the Laggan-Tormore Project in the Shetland Islands where there was a condition with the local authority that the peat covering the site was to be removed, stored and reused at the end of the gas plants life to return the landscape to its original condition.

SHEET PILING

Sheet piles are used to support a variety of temporary construction solutions for retaining walls, bridge abutments, cofferdams, excavation and trenches, containment walls and slope stabilisation. Our highly skilled and experienced Engineers can provide design solutions for temporary or permanent works.

GABIONS

Gabion wall is a retaining wall made of stacked stone-filled gabions that are tied together with wire to stabilise soil and prevent erosin. Gabion baskets are used as a retaining wall structure for unstable ground and can be constructed to any height or shape. Gabion can be used to line the beds and banks of the water courses for protection works.

HOARDING

Hoarding is a temporary structure that is erected around a construction site to provide protection from unauthorised access ensuring a safe environment for all workers and the general public.

BRIDGES

Temporary Bridges can be designed to match a wide range of vehicular bridging applications. Each component of a bridge is carefully designed to ensure the bridge can safely cater for the specified vehicle loads and widths.

TRENCH BOXES

Trench boxes/ drag boxes are steel structures used to protect workers by ensuring ground stability within a trench. They are constructed by sidewalls and held apart by spreader beams. Trench boxes minimise the excavation area and avoid damages to nearby structures.

FACADE RENTENTION

Facade retention is a process of supporting existing building facades or party walls for renovation purposes. This gives the client more flexibility to alter the internal floor structures and layouts to meet their required needs. Our team design required props, ties and bracing for this retention process.

FALSE WORK

Our team can design temporary structures to support the formwork for a spamming or arched building element until the permanent structure is self-supporting.
